The Bakehouse is a charming, intimate live theatre at the east end of Angas Street. Combine your theatre experience with dining or just a couple of drinks after the show.  The Seven Stars pub is just down the road in Angas Street, Hutt St restaurant strip is around the corner and we are only five minutes walk to The Garden of Unearthly Delights during Fringe time.

At the Bakehouse you may rely on encountering a warm, welcoming atmosphere where there is no need to dress up, where you may often run into someone you know and where you can take your drinks into the theatre with you. We have two theatre spaces - the main theatre,  (capacity 88) and the newly opened studio theatre (capacity 40)

The Bakehouse Theatre Company produces its own season of shows and is also available for hire by independent professional theatre groups. It has one resident amateur theatre group - Unseen Theatre Company.  This spread of theatre groups means that the theatre offers a wide variety of exciting, challenging, interesting and often off-the-wall shows, as well as a few theatre classics and one-handers.

We are proud that we cannot give you a description of the standard fare on offer. There isn't one! This theatre is about variety and a bit of risk taking. We see ourselves as being rather like having the Adelaide Fringe all year round! So get off that TV couch and into live theatre! We would love to see you here!
