Bakehouse Grand Re-Opening

Grand re-opening party

The Bakehouse Theatre was re-vamped, re-painted inside and out and had a fabulous grand re-opening party just in time for the Adelaide Fringe 2008, with Greg Mackie, head of Arts SA cutting the ribbon. Anyone who was anyone at all in the world of theatre and the media was in attendance, to see the striking grey and black decorator colours which Pamela Munt, Artistic Director says makes the building catch the eye and look much more like a theatre.

All eyes were soon drawn not only to the interior decorations, but to the sumptuous feast within it. The highlight of the feast was a continuously running chocolate fountain where guest could dip portions of fresh fruit or marshmallows to their heart's delight. Mark Bromilow, one of the Fringe performers, arrived from Queensland just in time to join in the celebrations before his highly acclaimed performance of "The Window" began.
