Choreographer Troy Mundy has returned to Australia to show that real men can dance by creating a unique cast of performers for his new work Green D-Men.

Green D-Men will see the assembly of some of Adelaide’s finest male dancers from the likes of the Australian Dance Theatre, Leigh Warren and Dancers and the independent scene performing at the Bakehouse Theatre (Adelaide) from July 21 - Aug 5 and the Dancehouse (Melbourne) on 29-30 July.

Upon his recent return to Australia after living and choreographing internationally for the past 14 years, Mundy found a noticeable lack of male dancers / students in the Arts Industry in Australia. Green D-Men is his way of challenging this situation in an effort to raise the profile of the male dancer. By creating work that features the male dancer, Mundy has assembled a very impressive cast featuring different characters and varying backgrounds to perform up close and personal in one of Adelaide's more intimate settings.

'The way male dancers eat up all the space around them onstage and push their energy out into the audience will be even more intense in such an intimate venue. For the audience, it will be almost impossible for them not to hear them breathing, see their sweat and feel the energy radiating out of their bodies.'

Green D-Men will be performing at the Bakehouse Theatre, 255 Angas Street (Adelaide) from July 21st until August 5th (Bookings 82270505) and at the Dancehouse, 150 Princes St North Carlton (Melbourne) 29-30 July (Bookings 93472860).
