Jally Productions
Pricing:

Duration:
40 minutes

This comedy borrows elements from both the Commedia Del' Arte and Burlesque traditions to send up doctors, wives, brutality and death. It is for a general audience, though children may particularly enjoy the exaggerated, absurd characters.  Norman has just learnt that he's about to die and his life changes dramatically as he finally stands up to his domineering Wife, the bullying Brute and the condescending Doctor. As it turns out, there has been a mistake on the part of the doctor, but Norman will never be the same. The setting for this piece, being essentially metaphysical and absurd, takes place beyond the realms of realism.

Performed by Jally Productions at the South East Queensland ‘one act play’ festival circuit during 2007, winning 17 awards including best play, best comedy, best actor, best supporting actor and best director.  Also a finalist in the British one act drama festival, and winner at the Welsh National Drama festival and AMFEST festival in Johannesburg, South Africa.  A special free performance will be staged for Health Care Card holders on Monday 9th March at 5.00pm

Reviews:

A finely tuned, tight production – it amazed me how you can make a play about death humorous. Kurt Lerps. Bachelor of Arts (Eng Lit) Master of Letters (Drama)

Very cleverly and clearly staged to extract the maximum comedy, excellent. Peter Sumner. (Actor, director)

A unique piece of theatre, well cast, well directed, well written and especially well performed. A delight to watch! Tony Bonner. ( Actor, director)

A little short at 30 mins, another 15 mins would of worked better. Thought it didn't really work on the very small stage. Very strong acting, well written, 3 out of 5 for me! The props were excellent!
