Martha controls their lives. Martha is their Mother.

"It is simply a wonderful experience in the theatre, Matt Crook.... truly brings a tear to the eye. ...Tamara Lee is disturbingly credible as his sodden and self-absorbed mother, while Elleni Karagiannidis evokes sympathy as the somewhat alienated daughter and Kate Roxby makes the hackles rise as the vapid school bully....John Maurice arrives late in the play as the father and encompasses the complexity of the distant dad with consummate skill. This production exemplifies five.point.one'spolicy of presenting daring and challenging new works. A must-see." - Samela Harris - The Advertiser
"Five.point.one’s production of “That Face”, directed by Corey McMahon, stays with memory long after the curtain call...Tamara Lee is sensational as Martha........Matt Crook is heartbreaking as Henry.....This is great theatre in a venue that consistently turns out quality on a shoestring" - Maggie Wood - Adelaide Theatre Guide
“Tamara Lee and Matt Crook as the neurotically enmeshed mother and son, falling deeper into desperate isolation, are highpoints in a compelling production. ...with lucid, well-paced direction by Corey McMahon and Cassandra Backler's artfully minimalist signature white set probingly lit by Ben Flett”.........Murray Bramwell - The Australian
“With highly efficient staging, the five.point.one team has done it again with a modern work that tears the fabric of our society in front of (our) eyes . Matt Crook needs to be added to any future stars watch list you may be compiling”......Peter Maddern – Krystoff
"Five.point.one's production of That Face is a compelling and confronting betrayal of a family locked in the crisis of mental illness. .....Corey McMahon's... command over the cast is evident in the high levels of emotion sustained over 100 minutes...... Rowan James - Aussie Theatre
"That Face is brilliant. Everything about this production is what modern dramatic theatre should be - spot-on perfect and faultless...Director Corey McMahoin has surpassedhimself with his clarity and understanding of the text. ....Tamara Lee is simply superb...Matt Crook gives possibly his best (performance) to date...Elleni Karagiannidis is expertly childish as sister Mia; John Maurice gives good, strong support...Kate Roxby almost steals the show.......Miranda Pike..delivers a disturbingly real performance...this is acting at its finest". -Brian Godfrey - Theatre People
"Throughout the 100 minutes of this riveting examination of dependence, both human and substance, I.... quickly understood why this work has won so many awards. Stenham has delivered a first play of incredible depth that perfectly meets five.point.one’s charter of presenting original, confronting theatre to Adelaide audiences.....another milestone in theyoung company’s impressive portfolio to date. We look forward to many more......." - Stephen Horne - Indaily
"Tamara Lee takes us from disgust to empathy in a marvellous performance. State Theatre, take note!...Matt Crook, as Henry, exceeds his past triumphs....(John) Maurice completes this very even cast, adding another fine performance to the mix.... Make sure that you see this production..." Barry Lenny - Glam Adelaide

I loved this show - the actors built up the characters beautifully, and kept us guessing at times..in the end, all was revealed. I had tears streaming down my face on a few occasions, and heard plenty of snuffling from others in the audience. How proud the actors and director must be with such an amazing performance - thank you for a wonderful night out. I think that events in this play will have touched the heart of everyone in the audience at some stage - and will be different for everyone. An honest display of humanity and human-ness and how humans react to their own lives and others in their lives. I shall remember this play for a very long time.

Just saw it. Fantastic play - written by a 19 year old as her first piece. Brilliantly acted by all the characters. Outstanding performance by Matt Crook. Tears from my wife, myself and daughters 14 and 17. The best play and performances I have seen in years.
