Dining Uns-Table investigates failed familial relationships and the psychological effects they have on individuals long after. In this solo, Cloé Fournier draws upon the sense of rejection and abandonment from a neglecting and insulting father. Eventually, she questions the moral obligations one is expected to have for family.

Emerging French born choreographer Cloé Fournier presents an innovative, confronting and witty dance-theatre work for her first participation in the Adelaide Fringe.

In her first major solo work, Dining Uns-Table, Cloé Fournier investigates failed familial relationships and the psychological effects they have on individual long after. She is the trouble maker, the problem solver, the witness, the organiser and ultimately the daughter. A daughter who has been continually neglected and insulted by her father over time.
As an audience member you are invited to share a family story [perhaps yours]. You could very well become one of the protagonists, be acted upon or be watching a conflictual relationship from a distance where 'nothing' is more than just a word.
Dining Uns-Table, is inspired by Cloé Fournier's previous short solo work, Erase, acclaimed by both reviews and audiences. “There is enormous control (e.g. her very slowly and deliberately sitting on a chair) contrasted with explosive emotional, physical and verbal release.” Lynne Lancaster, Arts Hub.
Erase was presented at the Sydney Fringe 2010 as part of the triple bill Three Steps Towards with Imogen Cranna and Tanya Voges. For this world premiere performance work, Cloé has been mentored by Sydney based artist and Australia Council fellow Dean Walsh -Dean has toured nationally and internationally, performing for world known dance companies (DV8, ADT...) as well as his own work (Back from front, Mirro-Mirror, Fathom...)-.
This performance which cleverly mixes contemporary dance and theatre aims to convey the personal through choreographic crafting and physical movement so that is universally understood.
