What’s this? A bloody girl on a bloody push bike in the middle of the bloody desert. You gotta be joking!

MILES AWAY is a rapid fire, tongue in cheek ride to the very heart of Australia where the beers flow freely yet water is sparse. Pump up your tyres and join Alex, an enigmatic young woman and her bike, affectionately known as Gus, as they battle the elements and themselves on this spontaneous road trip across the country.
Adelaide performer Renee Gentle plays the role of Alex and introduces a multitude of intriguing characters; from the overly protective parents to the crude yet proud publicans and outback individualists, each has their own unique story to share. But Alex quickly learns that surrounded by other people Australia can be a very funny, isolating and dangerous place.
"Gentle offers a tour de force performance, switching to and fro between so many diverse characters in a high energy production. This is a new work in a high quality performance, which is what the Fringe is supposed to be about. Catch this one at the Bakehouse Theatre while you can." Barry Lenny - Broadway World
